Our Story:
Our story started with a first date over coffee in the Fall of 2021, just down the street from where we live now in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC. We quickly fell in love, rarely spending a day apart, and got engaged on Christmas Eve of that year in Savannah, Georgia. Despite our quick courtship, we’ve definitely been challenged and tried—especially with separation due to military training and hospitalizations. We share a love of bookstores, niche (though different) policy topics, travel, and Formula 1. Above all, we love laughing and spending time with our each other.

A short snippet about the bride.
Originally from Southeast Ohio, Emmalyn has lived in DC for two years though she interned in and traveled to the district frequently while an undergrad at Iowa. She is a paralegal for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), though she hopes to attend law school once her health calms down. Her main loves (besides Andrew) include her dog Alfie, advocacy, creative writing, fougasses from the Dupont Circle neighborhood bakery “Un Je Ne Sais Quoi,” and Trader Joe’s.
A short snippet about the groom.
Originally from the Austin, Texas area, Andrew has lived in Washington, DC, studying for about four years. Andrew is pursuing a second Master’s in Applied Intelligence at Georgetown University and will also be starting a position at the FTC alongside Emma in May. Besides his studies, Andrew enjoys running, road trips, and podcasts. He is also an Army reservist and travel aficionado. His main loves (other than Emma) are his dog Suki, Whataburger, German chocolate cake, and pecan pie.
The Registry
Many of you are traveling across the country or from overseas to celebrate with us in Washington, so your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for. If you'd still like to contribute to our chosen charities, or homeowner fund as a wedding gift, or gift us an item from our registry page for our shower, you can visit it at this link.
FAQS
What should I wear? Cocktail attire is recommended (Trousers/Slacks, collared shirts, jackets, dresses, blouses, skirts). Most of all, DC is known for being hot and humid in the summer, and while our ceremony is at 11:00 AM, keep this in mind if you’re traveling from out of town.
When should I arrive? Our ceremony is at 11:00 AM, but we ask that you show up between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM to grab a seat, enjoy some live music and a light drink.
How should I plan on getting around? If you plan on flying or driving in from out of town, we strongly recommend using the metro system or taking ubers or taxis while in town. While you may want to rent a car to better site-see, our venue only offers street parking.
If you need any other help or travel tips, please feel free to call, text, or email Emma or Andrew.
